Father's Day 2012

We had a very nice Father's Day. Jon was surprised with special donuts that Parker picked out and a few small gifts. While Jon was out of town last week, I "interviewed" Parker with questions about his daddy. The gift turned out great and Jon was really surprised. He was pretty proud that his boy knew him so well!

We also were able to spend some time at the pool this weekend. Owen still hasn't gone swimming, but he probably will before long. Parker has taken like a fish to the water this year and it has been lots of fun watching him swim around!

Easter 2012

It was a great Easter weekend for our family!

Jon actually got off work a little early on Friday afternoon, so we went for a drive and stopped for ice cream.  Saturday morning, we attended our church's Easter Egg hunt and had a fun time!  We spent Saturday evening with friends.

Sunday morning, we woke up to find that the Easter bunny visited our house!  After looking at the treats he left, we got ready for church.  After church and naps, we had our own Easter Egg hunt and picnic.

Savannah Christmas

Jon and I packed up the car and headed down to Savannah a few days before Christmas.  Parker was already down there - he went before us to spend time with everyone. Christmas this year was so much fun!  I didn't take too many pictures on Christmas day because there was so much excitement, but I did take the camera with me when we went out the day after Christmas.  We had a wonderful, long weekend.  The weather in Savannah was beautiful!

After a trolley ride around the city, we took a ferry across the river to see a gingerbread village.  The ferry was definitely a fun part of the day...Parker loved it!

Christmas in Lexington

We celebrated an early Christmas this past weekend with some family in Lexington.  Parker's cool new present from Jon's mom and Chris was a blue car!  If you know Parker, you know this is perfect :)

Parker still needs a little practice driving, but he is already cruising all around the neighborhood!

Preschool Performance

Thanks to Kristi, I have a video to share from Parker's preschool performance a few weeks ago.  (He is in the upper right-hand corner of the video.  After a minute, it gets a little easier to see him).  He did such a great job - I am so proud of him!

Busy December

We had a busy weekend that kicked off on Friday afternoon with Parker's preschool Christmas performance.  He did such a great job singing, "We Wish You a Merry Christmas!"  I'm hoping someone was able to capture it on video that I can share later.

Saturday morning we headed out to the Lowman Home and visited with Great-Granddaddy for a few hours.  It was such a nice time!  Parker was a little scavenger and found several candy canes and mints that he kept putting in his mouth!

We went to our neighborhood's annual Harborside Lights with the Fox family on Saturday evening.  Parker was so excited about being able to see Santa Claus.  After we had been waiting for a few minutes, he was a little unsure about sitting on Santa's lap.  Once it was his turn, we all went up for a family photo and then Jon and I stepped back so we could have a picture of just Parker and Santa.  Parker told Santa what he wanted for Christmas (blue blocks, a scooter and a baseball bat) and then received a candy cane.  He was star-struck that he actually got to see Santa and keeps talking about going back to see him!  This age is so much fun!

Finally, after church yesterday we had our church Christmas pageant.  Parker's role was to be one of the barn animals - a horse.  He did a great job at the rehearsal, but by the time 6pm rolled around he was tired of sitting around.  Oh well, I guess he played the part of a horse perfectly by kicking his legs and crawling off stage!  After the performance he went shopping in the Elf Store with the youth group where he picked out a present for his mommy and daddy.  What a sweet boy!

Look at that smirk - you can tell he's up to something!

The Fox's had us over last night for our 2nd annual night of putting together gingerbread houses.  We had a great time, although I think more of the candy ended up in the mouths of Parker and Olivia than on the actual houses!

Thanksgiving 2011

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving with Jon's side of the family in Virginia Beach.  We were so excited to spend time with Uncle Bob and Aunt Jen who traveled from California.  It had been a year since we saw them!  Parker also met several of Jon's aunts and uncles for the first time. It was a whirlwind trip, but well worth the drive to spend time with family.

Thanksgiving Performance

Parker's preschool had their annual Fall Fest this past week.  If you recall last year's performance, you would remember Parker wasn't really cut out for the stage.  I was nervous this year as to what kind of trouble he would cause, but he actually did a better job.  I even caught him singing a few different times.  Of course, when he and his friends all noticed one another it led to lots of running around!

Happy Halloween 2011

Parker was more excited about Halloween this year (compared to last year). He had such a great time going door-to-door. Once his pumpkin was full of candy, we made the walk back home so he could help hand some out from our house.  We were excited that Aunt Laura and her friend, Jordan, were able to join us this year!

This morning, I asked Parker what his favorite part of Halloween was and he yelled, "The Candy!"
