We enjoyed a nice weekend in Blowing Rock. Usually you are able to escape the summer heat in the mountains, but not this past weekend. Even though we had unseasonably warm temperatures, we had a great time. And, I'm sure we were much cooler than
famously hot Columbia where an all-time record was set! We missed Uncle Jacob who couldn't make it due to work, but were happy to have his other half, Aunt Cameron, join us!
Love seeing this view in the morning
Blackberries aren't quite ripe, but should be when we're back in a few more weeks
We packed up a picnic and headed to Price Park on Saturday morning. Parker played in the creek while Owen snoozed in the sunlight. It was a perfect day. I have wonderful memories of picnicking and creek walking at Price Park when I was little. I'm so happy to continue doing it with my boys.
This picture isn't quite focused, but I love the way Owen is looking at his daddy

After our picnic, we went back to the cabin to eat BBQ and listen to the
Rhythm Masters. It has become somewhat of a tradition for the July Fourth weekend. Parker had a blast shaking his booty and Owen did very well at his first concert.

We're back in town for the week with plans to celebrate the Fourth on Wednesday with friends, fun and sun!
