Fourth of July 2011

Fourth of July 2011 was a blast!  We spent the weekend in the cool mountains of North Carolina.

Saturday afternoon, we hiked at Hebron Colony Falls and cooled off under a waterfall.
Parker didn't get in the waterfall (it was a little dangerous for him), but he sat and watched with Grandmomma.  I don't know too many two and a half years old to make that trek up the mountain!

*I promise I got under the waterfall too - there just aren't any photos!

After a big breakfast on Sunday, a few of us went to Trout Lake to watch Flash and Trek get ready for a trail ride.  My parents have good friends, Wade and Lindsey, that have a cabin a few doors down.  Flash is Lindsey's horse.  She invited us out and Parker loved watching the horses get ready for their trail ride. He was so interested in all of the details - cleaning the horseshoes, feeding them apples, brushing their coats.

After watching the horses, we met up with everyone else at Price Park.  It was a perfect day for a picnic and creekwalking.

Following the picnic, we went to the park for ice cream and to listen to bluegrass music.  We were sad to see the weekend end, but we had a great time!
