4 month appointment and rice cereal

Parker had his 4 month check-up on Tuesday. I can't believe how fast time is flying! The big boy had a great check-up. He weighs a whopping 17 pounds and is almost 26 inches long. I think he is going to be tall like his Daddy and Pops. He also got his 4-month shots. Jon was there this time and was able to help calm him after those. Here are a few pictures of him at his appointment.




The doctor gave us the go-ahead to start rice cereal over the next couple of weeks. Once he is handling that well, we can gradually introduce other solids. Last night we got everything ready and sat down to feed him cereal for the first time. As the pictures below show, Parker was one unhappy boy.



We decided to take a break and get something on his stomach before feeding him the cereal. After he finished his bottle, we gave it one more shot. He was much happier this time. I think the combination of being hungry and sitting in the highchair for the first time was a little too much the first try. We'll see how it goes tonight.
