Weekend Work (and Fun)

Jon had so much fun installing our french drain a few weekends ago, that he couldn't wait happily agreed to the opportunity to do it again.  After we completed our irrigation and drainage system, Jon's mom asked if we could install one in their yard.  We spent Saturday in Lexington doing just that, among other things.  Jon was quite the "trenching pro" this time around. While Jon and Chris were busy with the drain, Parker and I took some time to plant a few flowers and bushes around the front stoop.  He was a busy bee helping me in the yard!  His favorite thing to do was to "dance" on the front stoop.  We had a great time and even were able to spend some time with Aunt Meredith and CJ.  We look forward to our next trip to Lexington.

After working for eight hours, we were hungry!  We headed over to Paul and Lauren's (our friends from church) on Saturday evening for a cook-out.  The weather was beautiful.  I was a little worried about how Parker would hold out - he only had napped for about an hour the entire day - but he had a great time playing with some of his buddies.  Jon was able to play a few games of cornhole while I watched the first half of New Moon.  I've already added it to our Netflix queue.  I can't wait until it arrives so I can finish it.

The unexpected happened Sunday morning and Parker slept until 9am.  Can you believe it?  It has been over a year since I have slept in that late.  It was amazing :)

After breakfast and a little bit of playtime, we were on the road to Greenwood, South Carolina.  My older cousin, Nathan, just accepted a call to a church there and his installation service was Sunday afternoon.  We picked-up Great-Granddaddy on our way and were able to spend some time catching up with him.  It was a wonderful service and we were able to see family that we hadn't seen in a while.  Parker had a blast playing with his second cousins.  He was so tired on the way home.  I think his eyes were closed before we pulled out of the church parking lot.  This is the only picture I took all weekend!

We're looking forward to another busy week.  Church softball has started back, so Parker and I might try to make it to Daddy's game Tuesday night if the weather is nice.  We're taking a trip up to Charlotte this weekend and are looking forward to seeing family up that way.
